Mini-Backgrounder

Things you probably do not need to know about me:

1. I just graduated from college. I am sort of depressed about it.

2. My favorite things/actions in life are writing, great books, mint-chocolate chip ice cream, exercise, good bread/cheese and wine, and lighting candles. Not always in that order, but probably sometimes.

3. I suffer from buyer’s remorse, usually after purchasing a pair of ultra-chic new heels. It passes after approximately 10 minutes.

4. If I could, I would travel somewhere new every week. I’ve found that by using a combination of hand motions and wearing all black, you can fit in just about anywhere.

5. I went skydiving and I feel as if I’ve cheated death.

6. The art of surfing and snowboarding will always elude me. I cannot figure out how to control a single board with two feet.

7. That being said, I’m only okay at flat-ground sports. Yes, I made up that term.

8. I love to play on computers. By “play” I mean I like to fiddle around with writing and design stuff. I’m trying to make it my career. I just ordered a new Macbook, so I can look cool while I sit in coffee shops with my brown, square glasses.

9. I’ve never been “seriously” injured, except for one time in fifth grade. I had to get three stitches in my eyebrow because a metal headboard fell on my head while I was sleeping. Before I went to bed that night, my cousin (who was sleeping over) and I were writing in our tween diaries with light-up pens. I credit those objects for saving my face, because with them my cousin was able to provide some light to see the extent of the bleeding. I’m not sure why we didn’t just turn on the bedroom light. It’s a long, weird story. Remind me to finish sometime.

10. I am currently trying to decide where to move and what to do next. It is one of the biggest decisions I’ve had to make thus far.

You should probably come back and read this again. If you don’t want to, it’s okay, too. Sometimes I can be candidly entertaining, or so I’m told.

One more thing. I have a strong affinity for roses. And no, not just the red, expensive ones. I like baby roses, pink and yellow roses, thorny roses, etc. Well, that and gerber daisies.

My love of said flowers comes from many reasons, including their romantic value, the fact that they are associated with my favorite Saint Therese (the Little Flower) (bet you didn’t know I had a favorite saint), their attractive smell and their ability to make almost anything look lovely and vintage-y. Plus, I think it’s sometimes important in life to stop for a minute and take a look at what really interests you.

Hence, the title.
